Heaven Bryant, the 10-month-old girl whose twin sister died earlier this week, is still in critical condition but improving, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

The twins’ mother was charged with murder and neglect, and the father was charged with neglect. Both are Navy seamen.

Bryant and her sister, Miracle Grace, were brought to Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center on Tuesday morning. Miracle Grace died at 9:30 a.m., and Heaven was taken to Portsmouth Naval Medical Center in critical condition.

The medical examiner determined Miracle Bryant’s death to be a homicide. The cause was medical and nutritional neglect, according to the medical examiner’s office.
